The challenge

Aurore lets three flats in Antibes: Cap d’Antibes Paradise, Palais Juan and Brin d’Azur. Until then, everything went through Airbnb and Booking.com, with their commission taken on every stay.

She wanted guests to be able to book with her, direct. With no risk of double bookings, since the same flats stay on sale on the platforms. And the site had to exist in English and Italian too, for guests coming from abroad.

What was built

  • A hand-written WordPress theme, with no page builder or bought template.
  • The whole site in French, English and Italian.
  • A page for each flat: photos, number of guests, floor area, amenities.
  • A booking journey built for her: dates, guests, real availability, then a link to pay the deposit online.
  • Calendars synced both ways with Airbnb and Booking.com.
  • A guide to Antibes and Juan-les-Pins, and a page on the town’s festivals and trade fairs.
  • The legal pages, then an illustrated user guide so she can run her site on her own.

What the site does

  1. Guests choose their dates right from the home page and see what is genuinely free.
  2. They send their request without going through a platform, and without paying anything straight away. The site says it plainly: €0 booking fees.
  3. If the dates are free, they receive a link to pay the deposit online. The balance is paid on arrival.
  4. The Airbnb and Booking.com calendars stay up to date: a date taken on one side closes on the other.
